Busy B: Beyoncé’s Jam-Packed 2013
It was announced today that Beyoncé will be performing at the 2013 Brit Awards. High-profile commitments like this have been the norm for Beyoncé as of late, so we here at PostalMusicMag have put together a schedule with all of B’s notable 2013 events. With all this on her plate, B has placed herself as the early favorite for the coveted title of Billboard’s 2013 Woman of the Year.
Beyoncé will perform the national anthem at Barack Obama’s inauguration. Other musical artists performing include Fun., Alicia Keys, and Billboard’s 2012 Woman of the Year, Katy Perry. While this would the defining moment for many an artist, Queen B is only getting started. Buckle up!
Destiny’s Child, the all-girl supergroup that propelled Beyoncé to stardom, will release a compilation album titled Love Songs. Included in this release is the first DC song in over eight years, “Nuclear.” Unfortunately, aside from their Super Bowl cameo, it does not look like DC will be going on tour anytime soon.
Bey has secured arguably the highest profile gig, the Super Bowl halftime show. Just as previous acts have brought guests onstage, Beyoncé will do the same; Destiny’s Child will reunite at the Superdome! With an expected audience of over 100 million viewers, one must also wonder if B will bring out husband and rap mogul Jay-Z.
Sasha Fierce is a lot of things: Musician, Actress, Dancer, Model and Fashionista, just to name a few. Now, she can add ‘Director’ to the already impressive list. Life is but a Dream, a documentary produced and edited by Knowles herself, is a candid look at her personal affairs. Tune in to HBO on Saturday, February 16 at 9 p.m. to see the premiere. Read more…
The 2013 Brit Awards will be host to an impressive and diverse list of performances. Other musical acts include teen pop wonders One Direction, folk-rock superstars Mumford & Suns, and alt-rockers Muse.
Epic, a 20th Century Fox animated CGI film, will feature Bey as Queen Tara. She will star alongside Colin Ferrell, Amanda Seyfried, Aziz Ansari, and Josh Hutcherson of The Hunger Games. Read more…
Perhaps the biggest news of all, Beyoncé is planning to release her fifth studio album sometime this year. Knowles has been working on the upcoming album ever since last summer. The untitled album is set to feature many prominent artists, including Kanye West, Miguel, Jay-Z, and Justin Timberlake. Well-regarded producers Hit Boi, The Dream and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic are working on the album as well. A tour to promote the new album is quite possibly in the works. Stay tuned.
